16th January- Study group based on Christian Bible .Minutes later noted how "it was thought a shame that all members who attended had at some point in their lives acknowledged the Bible." (!?)

1st March- Interfaith Network for the United Kingdom issue a press release recognizing the offence caused to Muslims through the publication of“Satanic Verses”
28th March- Reading Interfaith Group support these objections.

Tuesday 7th March- A Hindu wedding is staged for Reading Interfaith Group

17th April- Study group on the Bah ai scriptures.(see extracts)

Wednesday 3rd May- A Quaker wedding is staged at Friends Meeting House

15th May- Study group on the Torah.

18th June- A Jewish wedding is staged at the Synagogue

22nd June- Reading Interfaith Group begin looking for a patron or president.

Sunday 2nd July- Summer Outing to Ufton Court.

Saturday 15th July- Reading Interfaith Group visit to The Buddhapadipa Temple Wimbledon, the Swami Naryan Hindu Mission Neasdon, and Benedictine Community at Ealing Abbey.

Thursday 8th August- Reading Interfaith Committee members are invited for a bring-and-share lunch at Cherry Gould’s house at Kingsclere. This type of event was to be one of several, typical of the way in which Reading Interfaith Group generally do business!

Tuesday 24th October- United Nations Day. Reading Interfaith Group arrange for prayers and readings on the theme of peace at the Friends Meeting House. Each religious group is allocated a half hour session. The public are invited to drop in for all or part of this event.

Sunday 12 November- Birthday of Sri Sastya Sai baba. A celebration meeting for world prayers held at St Nicholas Church Hall Sutcliffe Rd.

Wednesday 15th November- Berkshire Buddhist group arrange a public talk by Ajahn Munindo, a senior monk from Chithurst.

The real act of marriage takes place in the heart, not in the ballroom or church or synagogue. It's a choice you make / not just on your wedding day, but over and over again / and that choice is reflected in the way you treat your husband or wife.
